Jack Miner Foundation

ABOUT OUR EDUCATIONAL TOURS

The Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary offers students and faculty a unique, educational afternoon experience; giving them a chance to enjoy the outdoors while learning about the local wildlife and history of Essex County in a casual and enjoyable atmosphere.

All tours are free (donations are always welcome) and offer a one hour, one-on-one, tour of the grounds. Our knowledgeable staff will be there to offer exciting information about each of the attractions and the rich history of the Sanctuary.

While here, students can feed the birds, visit the Jack Miner Museum, view the catching net and see the Jack and Laona Miner burial grounds. We also encourage you to bring lunch and spend the afternoon having fun and learning!

Book in advance for weekday personal guided group tours. Casual wear and sneakers are recommended for the tour.
